About Us

Caretaker Microfinance Bank is, as the name suggests, a microfinance organization.  The main branch is located at N0 68, Caretaker, Oyo Road, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria. The markets of the bank are served through four business segments: Personal, Business, Commercial and Corporate and investment banking.  

The bank in line with the law that set up the organization, has about 50 shareholders together with local and national investors.

The bank adopts the following strategies en route to ensuring continued growth mainstreaming sustainable business practices into its operations and striving to deliver sustainable business practices into its operations and striving to deliver sustainable, profitable and socially – relevant economic growth.

 

The Bank was incorporated as a Private Liability Company under the company and Allied Act. 1990 on 22nd November, 1994 with certificate number RC 257897.  The Bank was granted Community Banking License by the then National Board for Community Banks and opened its door to the public for operation on 2nd May, 1994.

On 15th December,  2005. The Central Bank of Nigeria launched the “Microfinance Policy Regulatory and Supervisory Framework for Nigeria” which required all Licensed Community Bank to transform to Unit Microfinance Bank by 31st December, 2007 or cease operation.

 

The Bank transformed into Microfinance Bank on 2nd January, 2008. The Bank obtained it final License to operate as a unit Microfinance bank from Central Bank of Nigeria on 18th February, 2008. 

The Bank was upgraded to a State Microfinance Bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria on 11th March, 2013.

The bank which started with an initial capital of N1,000,000.
